Purple Samsung Galaxy S3 Available From Sprint For Free

The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S4 is due to hit shelves soon but the company still seems to be interested in the Galaxy S3 launched in 2012. U.S. carrier Sprint is offering the Amethyst Purple version of the Galaxy S3 for free on a two-year contract.

The Galaxy S3 is available in an array of hues like Pebble Blue, Marble White, Titanium Gray, Garnet Red, Amber Brown, Sapphire Black and Martian Pink. However, the availability of the colors is carrier- and region-specific. With Sprint set to unveil the best-selling Android smartphone of 2012 in "Amethyst Purple," fans of the Galaxy S3 will have yet another color to choose from.

Sprint is offering the 16GB purple variant of Samsung Galaxy S3 for free on a two-year contract only if you port your number to Sprint on a new line of service. If you take a new connection then you will have to splash $99.99 for the handset. Sprint is also offering the same deal for the Marble White and Pebble Blue versions of the phone. Unfortunately, Sprint is only offering the Amethyst Purple color in the 16GB option only.

It's only the color of the handset which is different. The software features and the hardware specifications of the purple Galaxy S3 remains the same. The handset features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1.2, and 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display.

The Galaxy S3 was unquestionably one of the most-wanted smartphones of 2012. The success of the handset has made customers wait for the successor, the Galaxy S4.

With the latest Samsung offering due to arrive soon, will you buy the purple variant of the Galaxy S3 or wait for the Galaxy S4 to arrive?
