About The Muslim Travel Ban

The presidential order basically stops immigrants from various Middle East and African countries from entering the United States for a period of three months. All of the affected countries have mainly Muslim population. The ban currently covers Libya, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, and Syria as well as Yemen. Those seeking to immigrate as refugees are could not enter the country for a period of four months. Meanwhile, Syrian refugees are prohibited from entering the US indefinitely.

Trump refused to call the order as a Muslim ban but an extreme vetting to keep out radical Muslims from entering the country. The Executive Order though has cause confusion as many plane passengers find themselves being detained in airports or sent back to the planes. Wide scale protest greeted the Presidential Order. A federal judge has also issued a temporary reprieve for those affected by the ban. Those who are already in the country, in transit or are holding valid visas could still enter legally, according to CNN.
