Word's on the street that Apple's fifth generation tablet, iPad 5, will make its debut on June 18 and release nine days later on June 27. Moreover, leaked images of alleged iPad 5 cases have surfaced online, sparking speculation that the iPad 5 will make its way to consumers sooner than thought.

The leaked iPad molds are in keeping with the colors of this season –– neon green and blue –– and have been outed by Tactus.

"Hey there Tactites, this is Tactus reporting from the Far East. One of my Gadget spies has just sent through these images of the latest mould for iPad 5 case, I am soooo excited about this fantactus find I could burst!" notes Tactus' blog post.

The blog also reveals that iPad 5 will be announced at a media event on June 18 and release on June 27.

"The upcoming iPad 5 (green mould) which won't even be announced until a media event on the 18th June.  If you're wondering when the iPad 5 is also set for sale, then you've visited the right place. The iPad 5 is set to go on sale on the 27th June, just 9 days after the big media event. Let no one ever say Tactus isn't generous, letting you know this early!" notes the Tactus blog post.

Even though the iPad 5 will sport the 9.7-inch screen, the leaked images point to a slimmer device and hint at a design which borrows from the iPad mini. Moreover, the bezels on the case look a lot thinner. Tactus also discloses that the iPad 5 will have a aluminum rear and the volume button and power input are located in the same spot as smaller sibling iPad mini.

Analysts have forecasted a July launch for the iPad 5 and, therefore, the news of a June release by Apple will be welcomed by iFans.
