Video Games Among Best Super Bowl Commercials 2017

The championship game of the National Football League is one of the most awaited events that features many high-profile TV commercials otherwise known as Super Bowl ads. The phenomenon is a result of Super Bowl’s wide demographics and high viewership. 

Advertisers have used commercials to build awareness of their products by airing ads during the Super Bowl. Commercials aired during the Super Bowl have become a cultural phenomenon. Commercials are judged by national surveys such as the USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter on which advertisement had the best viewership response. A Super Bowl ad can cost a company a hefty fortune which may run into millions of dollars being spent to air their ads during the event.

During the Super Bowl 2017, video games were lauded as being some of the more entertaining and well-received commercials. Nintendo’s first Super Bowl ad was for its upcoming game console which featured a lot of footages from the video game giant’s much anticipated game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo’s commercial was a smart marketing move by the company and had reached vast viewership which could be well over one hundred million.

Mobile Strike Super Bowl commercial featured Arnold Schwartzenegger which has a role of a tough action guy in the ad for the hit mobile game. Arnold is a fitting figure for this mobile military game. The ad was quite funny and entertaining. The commercial looked so great that it would rake in thousands of new players for the mobile game.

Another video game 2017 Super Bowl ad was Evony: The King’s Return. The Walking Dead’s star Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the role of King Arthur in this commercial for the strategy game. The commercial looked so cool with a massive army running across the battlefield to take down a fortress with massive flaming projectiles launched from catapults pounding the ground and stunning cinematography which would make gamers want to play the game.

The massively popular free-to-play game World of Tanks had two commercials in this year’s Super Bowl. The commercials were funny spoofs of reality TV with tanks busting through walls and destroying houses. Viewers were surely entertained by the two commercials as reported by Forbes.

Companies spend millions of dollars to have a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl game. Nintendo’s first Super Bowl commercial made gamers more anxious to get their hands on preorders. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild looked amazing during the commercial and gave fans a brief glance of what it would look like as reported by Wired.
