LG K8 Preview: Super Affordable Android Phone With Decent Specs

The latest smartphones nowadays like the LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 are way too alluring to the consumers due to their promising specs and features.  It cannot be denied that these devices are matched with towering prices. If spending hard-earned money for a new phone isn't an option, LG offers two alternatives, the K5 and K8, that may be a better fit for your budget without sacrificing a sense of style.

The LG K8 is the fancier of the two midrange smartphones LG has launched last year.  It sports a decent design with curved edges and a woven-textured back panel. The LG K8 has a sharper screen and improved cameras than the K5 but is otherwise very similar to it. Both models come in a variety of colors which includes gold, and the K5 comes in a lavish black called "titan."

LG K8 Specifications

The LG K8 features a 5-inch HD display (720p), powered by 32-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor and clocked at 1.3 GHz. Equipped with 1.5 GB of RAM including 16 GB of internal storage space, but only 9.3 GB are left for the user and rest is occupied with preinstalled software. LG K8 also supports microSD expandable up to 128 GB. As for the cameras, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper with selfie features like Gesture Shot and Selfie Light. Gesture Shot means the device can recognize when the user makes a gesture and starts a three-second timer when taking a selfie. Meanwhile, the Selfie Light feature is designed to take high-quality self-shots even in low-light.

LG K8 Battery Life And Features

The LG K8 features a rear-mounted lock and volume keys. Under the hood is a 2,125 mAh battery lasts up to 22 hours of usage. For a cheap smartphone, the performance of the battery is perfectly on the level. Runs Android 6.0 with LG's custom user interface on top.
