MediaTek Launches The New Helio P25 Chip For Dual-camera Phones

MediaTek has unveiled the launch of the newest addition to the MediaTek Helio P series mobile processor family, the MediaTek Helio P25. The new chipset merges the power of 16nm Octa-core processing with MediaTek Imagine, a superior Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology and dual camera features to delight smartphone photographers.

The new chip also supports video HDR with full preview and also comes with the high-performance auto exposure that takes full advantage of dual camera smartphones nowadays. Helio P25 is a marked transformation of the successful MediaTek Helio P series which includes the MediaTek Helio P10 and P20 by combining dual-camera support with power efficient technology and advanced multimedia capabilities. MediaTek promotes to deliver more power while using less energy.

The MediaTek Helio P25 packs a 12-bit dual ISP offering support for up to 24-megapixel single camera or dual 13-megapixel cameras. The company says that the Helio P25 comes with features like Colour, Mono de-noise, and real-time shallow DoF bokeh effect and a dual camera-optimised. Moreover, with its range of hardware image-signal-processing (ISP) features, MediaTek Helio P25 puts advanced camera effects at user fingertips which allow shallow depth-of-field basically associated with more expensive lenses and also with high-performance auto exposure which allows users to shoot the highest quality images in any lighting condition.

The Helio P25 is offering up to 25 percent better power efficiency than previous versions. For graphics, MediaTek Helio P25 equips the recent ARM Mali-T880 dual GPU clocked at up to 900MHz, according to a source, the company says it is perfect for demanding video and gaming apps. Furthermore, the new chipset also supports improved uploads in LTE up to 64-QAM uplink for LTE-TDD mode) and also supports low power double data rate random access memory (LPDDR4x) up to 6GB.
