Injustice 2 Swamp Thing Revealed As New Character To Join Roster

NetherRealm Studios developers unveiled the next character to make the roster for the upcoming fighting game Injustice 2. Developers gave fans a brief overview of the new playable character’s moves and abilities that can be used during combat.

The trailer shows that the Swamp Thing is not going to be a pushover. The massive size and power that the character possesses will allow him to deliver massive damage to opponents. A few hits from the massive juggernaut will inflict heavy damages to enemies.

The short clip that was released showed Swamp Thing doing a number of combos. These combos have powerful yet versatile moves that deal damage to the opponent. The trailer showed Swamp Thing’s abilities to grow branches to push enemies back. He has the ability to duplicate himself and grab opponents and deal additional damage. He can sink into the ground to dodge attacks as well as pulling foes into the ground to deal a beat down in his finishing move.

With Injustice 2 set to be released several months from now, game fans should expect NetherRealm Studies to have many more reveals planned in the future. Ed Boon, the game’s creative director previously hinted addition of more obscure characters in the future. Boon also suggested the possibility of bring in characters outside of the DC Universe coming to Injustice 2. Sub-Zero and Spawn being two potential additions to the title as reported by GameRant.

Swamp Thing is a humanoid/plant elemental creature created by Berni Wrightson and Len Wein. The Injustice 2 character is a swamp monster who protects the environment, his swamp home and humanity from terrorist threats or supernatural attacks. In a poll posted by Ed Boon, NetherRealm creative director, Swamp Thing was one of the most requested characters, coming in just second to Blue Beetle as reported by Polygon.
