Latest Destiny Patch Accidentally Changes All Health Regeneration Perks

Bungie has previously announced that they would be releasing a new patch for Destiny to reinvigorate the PVP mode. The company is also set out to make some adjustments to the gameplay so that players can use fresh weapon combinations, strategies, and ability combinations. The patch named HotFix 2.5.0.2 is released on February 14, 2017.

A quick summary of the changes brought by the patch

In an article by Gamespot, the changes made involved a few of the Meta in Destiny's PVP. Specifically, the shotgun, the pulse, auto, and scout rifles, along with hand cannons all received a reduction in their respective abilities. There are also some changes in the subclasses in the update, which includes the abilities of Stormcallers, Hunters, Bladedancers, and Strikers. Unexpected changes that happened with the patch

According to Gamerant, HotFix 2.5.0.2 was supposed to change the Bladedancers Hungering Blade Perk, as before it instantly regenerates the player's health and shield when used, but now, it only immediately starts Health regeneration, gives a specific amount of health and shield per use, restores more health per kill, and it does not immediately start regenerating shield.

These changes were at first seemed flawless but as developers tried out the patch before the release, they found out that the Health regeneration of the Hungering Blade Perk was also applied to other subclasses, weapons, and armor. As a result of the Transfusion for Striker Titan, Cauterize for Sunbreaker Titan, Lifesteal for Voidwalker Warlock, Red Death Perk, Suros Legacy Perk for Suros Regime, Back-Up Up Plans, Ward of Dawn cast, The Ram, Apotheosis Veil, and Embrace The Void were all improved in their Health Regeneration.

According to Bungie, the perks are working the same way like the Hungering Blade perk.  Bungie has detected the issue days before the release of the patch but decided to accept the change and move forward. On the other hand Bungie also mentioned that they would be observing and listening to the players' feedback to know if there is a need to tweak things.

Whether or not this unexpected change greatly affects the gameplay in Destiny, it is up to the player to determine what's the best thing to do and to make the most out of it. Surely, if a lot of players give their feedback to Bungie, they are sure to make some changes in order to regain some sense and balance in Destiny.
