‘A Silent Voice' Anime Movie Prepares For International Debut; English Trailer Released

The highly acclaimed animated movie, “A Silent Voice” is gearing up for its international release. With that, it has released a new trailer subbed in English and even Chinese for its non-Japanese viewers. “A Silent Voice” is preparing to make its international debut in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore.

With an inspiring story, “A Silent Voice” is highly anticipated in other countries so fans cannot hide their excitement when it was announced that it will start making its way in theaters outside of Japan. Film distributor, Purple Plan has scheduled it to debut in Singapore and Malaysia on March 9. It will then make its premiere in Taiwan on March 27 and in Hong Kong on April 6.

“A Silent Voice” made its theatrical premiere in Japan back in September 2016 and the Japanese trailer has made waves through the internet, enticing international viewers with the animated film’s art and story. The story is about a delinquent named Shoya Ishida who reunites with a classmate back in elementary. But the thing is he used to bully this classmate named Shoko Nishimaya and he tries to make it up to her after realizing his mistake.

The said animated film is an adaptation of the Japanese manga, which ran for seven volumes from August 2013 to November 2014. Just like the movie, the manga has also received various awards. With it making headlines, Kyoto Animation eventually made a movie out of it.

“A Silent Voice” trailed just behind Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name” at the Japanese box office when it made its premiere and it has already been listed as one of the highest grossing Japanese films. The said anime movie has won Excellent Animation of the Year at the 40th Japan Academy Prize, which took place just this year. It has also been nominated for Best Animation Film at the 71st Mainichi Film Awards.
