'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D' Season 5: Dr. Hall, Grant Ward's Comeback; What To Expect When Series Returns

"Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 5 dropped a big twist this week. Episode 15 revealed most of the team were replaced by Life Model Decoys (LMDs) with Jemma and Daisy as the only two who are still human. Series executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen gave some hints on what to expect when the series returns after a hiatus, including Grant Ward's comeback.

The upcoming episodes will feature both events in the actual reality and the framework. "We'll spend some time there. You will see both," Whedon told Entertainment Weekly. However, the two did not divulge how much of the alternative reality is going to be featured. They described the Framework as a paradise and a nightmare. It may be a paradise for some people.

The two also confirmed Brett Dalton's comeback as Grant Ward "We figured when you get dropped into an alternate reality, what better way to show that it might not be everything you imagined than the return of one of our most loved and most hated characters," Whedon said. However, it looks like Daisy won't be too happy with his return.

Speaking of comebacks, another familiar face might be returning to "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 5. Whedon revealed the series might tie some loose ends in the final arc. This might possibly include Dr. Franklin Hall who disappeared way back in season 1. "We would not be doing our jobs as well as we could if we left that unanswered," Whedon said according to Comicbook.

If the series will feature Dr. Hall's comeback. It is possible that he will become a different man that he was before. Dr. Hall was trapped in the gravitonium. In the original comics, Dr. Hall turned into a supervillain named Gravitation who fought against the heroes. "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 5 will return on Tuesday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
