‘Rick And Morty' Season 3 Begins Voiceover; Series To Premiere In April?

Fans were finally given an update for "Rick and Morty" season 3. It was revealed that the show is currently in production and recently started its voiceover work. There are speculations the series would premiere in April. Meanwhile, Adult Swim Australia also tricked fans with a supposed exclusive clip of the upcoming season.

"Rick and Morty" staff writer, Mike McMahan confirmed the production's progress. "Hey @RickandMorty am I allowed to say we're recording episode 301 today?" he said in Twitter accompanied by an image of the script. The episode title was covered up but the script revealed the record draft was completed on Feb. 17.

There is no official release date yet but there are speculations the series would be ready in the first half of 2017 -- around April. Previously, the series was targeting premiere before the end of 2016. In an interview last month Dan Harmon said the episodes were taking longer to write. A report reveals possible release dates of "Rick and Morty" season 3 are April 2 and 9. It is exactly 18 months from October 4, 2015, when Mr. Poopy Butthole predicted the release date would be after a year and a half.

On the other hand, Adult Swim Australia posted a video titled "EXCLUSIVE! Season three opening scene" on Monday, Feb. 20 with the caption "Rejoice! It's finally here!" making fans all excited. However, the video turned out to be a troll for eager fans. There is no real footage of Season 3 at all. Adult Swim further joked they are having technical difficulties and will address the issue soon. This might mean fans will be able to see a real Season 3 clip soon.

"Rick and Morty" follows the misadventures of Rick Sanchez, a cynical mad alcoholic scientist, and his grandson Morty, who is easily influenced and dragged by Rick. The series released is the first season in December 2013 with 11 episodes, which was followed by a 10-episode second season in July 2015. "Rick and Morty" season 3 will have 14 episodes.
