LG Prototype Leak: G2 Or Nexus 5?

Some leaked photos of an LG smartphone have surfaced, indicating that the device could be the Optimus G2 or the Nexus 5.

The images come from the folks over at @evleaks, who are reliable in providing leaks. The phone has no buttons on its surface. As for the display, it is very large and some say it could be as big as that found on the Optimus G Pro at 5.5 inches. Also, in the same vein of the Optimus G and Nexus 4, it appears as if the screen slightly curves around the phone's edges.

Last year's Optimus G was the base design for the Nexus 4. There are certainly features in this new device that are Nexus-like, including the curvature of the bottom and top. However, the earpiece is completely unfamiliar.

As far as the Optimus G2 goes, we've heard that the device will have a 1080p display. Other features are rumored to include a Qulacomm 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. We've certainly seen our fair share of rumors about an LG Optimus G2, however it seems odd that LG might be releasing that device, given the release of the Optimus G Pro. We've also heard that LG will be making the next Nexus. So, we'll have to wait and see what the device turns out to be.

Back in mid-April South Korean publication etnews stated that the Optimus G2 would include a design change with rearranged button placement. Specifically, the publication said that the device would have its Home and volume buttons on its back and have volume rockers next to the camera. The publication also mentioned a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.
