MWC 2017: Huawei P10 And P10 Plus As 'World's First 4.5 G Smartphones'

This year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona revealed Huawei's continued partnership with Leica in introducing their branded dual cameras at the back. The metal bodied device has a lot in store to offer than its predecessor with a new design, upgraded processor, camera, and software. Another interesting information revealed by the company is the fact that the P10 and P10 Plus are the "world's first 4.5G LTE smartphone" that utilize a quad-antenna design to boost download speeds. Huawei claims a 2x increase in network speeds over the dual-antenna of P9 and P9 Plus.

Huawei P10 And P10 Plus Specifications

The P10 comes with a 5.1-inch, 1080p display, while its larger sibling flaunts a 5.5-inch, WQHD panel. Both are wrapped in Gorilla Glass 5 and are powered by an octa-core, Kirin 960 processor The pair will come equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as standard. Huawei will, however, sell a variant of the P10 Plus with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory too. Under the hood is 3200mAh battery that sits inside the P10, while a 3750mAh cell powers its larger P10 Plus sibling. Like previous variants, both will feature "SuperCharge" for quick top ups.

The 2017 flagship comes with a superb dual-lens Leica optics camera from a 12-megapixel dual-lens camera to a Leica SUMMILUX-H dual-lens, which is a dual-lens 20-megapixel mono + 12-megapixel RGB camera. It supports 4K video, OIS, 4-in-1 hybrid autofocus,3D facial recognition, hybrid zoom, and event bokeh effect in mono mode. In the camera app, a bunch of modes is available for different conditions with one professional mode as well that allows for a manual control of ISO, exposure, white balance, RAW output, shutter speed, and more. Huawei P10 and P10 Plus smartphones will be unveiled on the market in March in the following colors: Ceramic White, Dazzling Blue, Dazzling Gold, Graphite Black, Mystic Silver, Rose Gold, and Greenery. Price starts at $649 depending on the variants.
