Justin Timberlake showed the power of his music when he rocked the Dolby Theater filled with the who’s who of the biggest movie industry in the world, as he opened the Academy Awards on Sunday night with his mega hit single “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”

The contagious song, which is also nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song for the animation film “Trolls,” made the biggest names in Hollywood rise and move to the groove. This the first Academy Award nomination for Justin Timberlake, and fellow musicians Max Martin and Karl Johan Schuster.

Timberlake started singing at the entrance of the theater, gradually being surrounded by his dancers dressed to the nines. As he progresses through the song, he enters the theater as he was welcomed by cheers and applause from the biggest names in Hollywood. He was able to set an energetic and exhilarating tone, enough to sustain the stars from the beginning to the end of Hollywood’s biggest night.

He also segued into the Bill Withers hit “Lovely Day.” In some interviews, Timberlake admitted that the 1977 RnB hit played a big inspiration when he was writing “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”

Justin Timberlake’s rousing and boisterous performance was highlighted when he stepped down from the stage to party with the audience. Notably, he went to a lady wearing a gold down, placed his hand in her waist, and swayed together. The woman is Jessica Biel, Timberlake’s wife and mother to their baby boy, Silas.
