For some strange reason Radio Shack has cut the price of the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch and the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. The prices are unbelievably low, as Barnes & Nobles is still selling both at their original prices. The Nook Simple Touch retails for $79.00, while the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight sells for $119.00.

It's not clear when or why Radio Shack decided to make these price drops, but according to the slickdeals forum, customers have been able to purchase the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch for the very low price of  $19.99. Customers were able to purchase the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight for $29.97.

Radio Shack only lists the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch on its online store for $19.97, as seen in the screenshot. It currently lists the Nook Simple Touch as out of stock, but has a "find nearby" button that many customers have successfully used to track down the Nook Simple Touch and the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight in a Radio Shack retail store. I can confirm that a friend of mine purchased a Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight in a Manhattan Radio Shack for $29.97.

There's no word on when and if this deal will expire; but if you can score a top-of-the-line e-reader (as many have done already) for that much of a discount, the hunt might be worth the reward. Call and check the inventory before you head down to your local Radio Shack. Either e-reader would also make a nice Mother's Day gift. Best of luck on your Nook mission!
