'Btooom!' Anime Season 2 Teased In Game; Ryouta, Himiko Getting Off The Island?

"Btooom!" anime might be getting a season 2 -- that is if the new "Btooom!" online game application gets a good response. The producer of Asobimo's "Btooom!" smartphone game, Masato Hayashi, promised "Btooom!" season 2 will be made is the game gets in the top 5 of Japan's app sales chart.

The said game which depicts Junya Inoue's original series. Armed with BIM bombs, the players must conceal their presence and throw bombs on enemies. It has a multiplayer gameplay which allows the player to team-up against enemies. The game is free-to-play. It was made available for iOS and Android devices in Japan as of Tuesday, Feb. 28 according to Otaku Vines.

"Btooom!" follows the story of a 22-year-old NEET, Ryouta Sakamoto. He is ranked among the world's top 10 players of a popular combat game called Btooom! One day, he wakes up on a tropical island and was thrown a bomb by a man he asked for help. It turns out, he was transported to the island, trapped in a real-life and deadly version of the game. He then meets Himiko, a high school student who is his in-game wife.

The 12-episode first season of the anime series which aired in 2012 follows the first eight volumes (50 chapters) of the original manga. According to reports, "Btooom!" season 1 did not sell well so there was no immediate announcement of "Btooom!" season 2.

Currently, the manga series has a total of 22 volumes. There are speculations that Ryota and Himiko are getting off the island in "Btooom!" season 2. In the latest translated chapters of the manga, there are only two hours left before the death game is finished and Ryouta promised an injured Himiko that they are going to win and earn the ticket to get out of the island. To spice things up the game moderators came to drop off medicine that every team needs so badly.
