Zelda Breath Of The Wild Guide: How To Acquire Epona And Other Amiibo Goodies

Since the day it was launched to the public, Nintendo's upcoming action adventure game entitled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild received awesome reviews throughout the web. Meanwhile, the game will launch along with Nintendo Switch, where owners are incredibly excited about its arrival.

Apparently, players will be expectedly anxious on exploring the game's vast open world. Travelling along a large area, fans will need to tame wild horses for companion. However, for long-time players of the series, they know that it is not enough to have an ordinary horse. Instead, players can gain access to Epona, Link's notable horse from Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time and more past game titles. Contrary to previous claims, it appears that players could ride Epona in the new Legend of Zelda game title.

Fortunately, there is no sophisticated method to acquire Epona in Breath of the Wild. Rather, it is a quick process, given that players have a particular amiibo character. According to Game Rant, acquiring Epona will need players to first get the Link amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series. The amiibo can be purchased online for around $11, or it can be found at several gaming retail stores.

After acquiring the Link amiibo, make sure that the amiibo feature is enabled on Nintendo Switch. It can be done quickly via settings. Once it is all done, players are now set to acquire Epona. To get Epona, players need to use the Link amiibo with the sensor on the right Joy-Con of the console. Epona will then spawn beside Link after the game recognizes the amiibo.

In order to keep Epona permanently to the game, players need to quickly take the horse to the stables and register the companion. Meanwhile, Epona will spawn with maximum Strength, Stamina and Speed stats. Additionally, it has a Gentle temperament and Max Bond with Link.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that players cannot alter the name of Epona in Breath of the Wild, unlike other horses they capture. It is because of Epona's history in the franchise, and it appears that the stable master is not too intense on allowing players to change the name.

Lastly, there are many other amiibo goodies that can bring some new in-game bonuses such as Wolf Link amiibo and Wind Waker Zelda amiibo. The Wolf Link amiibo from Twilight Princess will brood a wolf companion while Wind Waker drops a chest filled with essential items for players to collect.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is now available, exclusively for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
