OnePlus 4, OnePlus 5 Latest News: Wallpaper Leak Sparks Rumors Of Looming Launch

The OnePlus 4 or more likely the OnePlus 5 will debut soon. At least that's what the rumor mill has been churning since prolific leaker Evan Blass posted an image of what seems like a wallpaper adorned with the words "Never Settle", OnePlus' signature tagline.

The wallpaper has what is described as a darker design than what OnePlus devices usually have. The leak has little to offer in terms of the potential features of the OnePlus 5 but with Blass offering the question, "You know what this means, don't you?" to go with the teaser image, many in the industry haven't stopped speculating since.

One rumor that was derived from the leak is that OnePlus will be releasing a Midnight Black or jet black version of either the OnePlus 3T or the rumored OnePlus 5. David Ruddock of Android Police put more fuel to the fire when he posted that OnePlus "could have a dark announcement sometime soon". Ruddock also mentioned that the "announcement" may be "as Black as Midnight".

Another prominent speculation is that the next OnePlus device will likely skip the "4" tag. The number 4 is considered unlucky by the Chinese which is why the company may opt to call its next flagship smartphone the OnePlus 5. According to PC Advisor, OnePlus' father company also owns the Vivo brand which skipped from Vivo 3 to Vivo 5 also because of superstition.

Other rumors on the OnePlus 5 so far include the possibility of sporting a dual curved edge display similar to that of Samsung's Galaxy S7 edge. The display will supposedly have a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The OnePlus 5 is also rumored to come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 256GB internal storage, and a 16MP selfie camera.

The OnePlus 3T just made it to stores a few months ago but rumors of the OnePlus 5 in the works have already sprouted since then. Some are looking at the possibility of a June or July launch for the highly anticipated OnePlus 5 or maybe the OnePlus 4.
