iPhone 5S Features: Leaks Show Major Overhaul

Just like every iPhone that carried the S moniker before it, the iPhone 5S is expected to keep the same exact case and design of the iPhone 5. A new report suggests that while there won't be any changes externally, there will be a major overhaul internally to possibly add more parts and features.

It is believed that based on newly leaked parts, Apple is planning a major overhaul to the internals of the iPhone 5S since they don't match the current iPhone 5's internal parts. There have been rumors that Apple will be adding an upgraded processor, an improved camera, and a biometric fingerprint scanner as its home button.

BGR received several images of what its sources claim are parts from the iPhone 5S. The images show a loud speaker bracket, ear speaker bracket, vibrating motor assembly, Wi-Fi flex cable ribbon, and SIM card tray.

The site suggests that the iPhone 5S will include a newly redesigned ear speaker bracket and loudspeaker bracket. This could be for better call quality, improved media sound, and a possible update to the iPhone 5's HD Voice. The difference in call quality has been claimed to be far superior to the current sound. We reported that AT&T has confirmed it will begin to offer HD Voice this year, so this could possibly be the reason for the new part.

The images also include what is being claimed as the new SIM card that will ship with the iPhone 5S. The site claims that the new SIM cards are thinner than the SIM trays found on the current iPhone 5. There are also two colors, one is the standard aluminum we're accustomed to, the second appears to have a golden color to it, the site suggests that the iPhone 5S, just like the iPod touch will be available in multiple colors when launched.

As with all Apple rumors take these with a huge grain of salt.
