Get Verizon HTC Droid DNA Free; HTC DLXPLUS Release Date Soon?

Verizon has started running a new promotion that it is calling a "social promotion." It will offer you a free DROID DNA by HTC with a new 2-year contract. The social promotion ends on May 21, so if you're looking for a great Android smartphone like the DROID DNA for the very low price of free.

This could be a strategic plan on Verizon's part to make room for the HTC DLXPLUS.

The Verizon Droid DNA features a 5-inch 1080p 441ppi (pixels per inch) SUPER-LCD 3 display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, Gorilla Glass 2, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense, a Qualcomm quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front camera, 1080p HD video recording, 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, HDMI out port, 2,020mAh battery, a waterproof case, NFC (near field communications) and built-in wireless charging. Verizon currently charges $199 with a new 2-year contract online and in its retail stores, so you're getting an amazing deal on the DROID DNA.

We reported that an HTC document leak mentioned an HTC DLXPLUS and the device could be heading to Verizon.  The device could be the DROID DNA 2 or an HTC One Variant.  It's not clear when the new smartphone will be available, but don't expect to see it being offered for free in any promotion.
