HTC One Google Edition Rumored For Summer Release (Rumor)

There is no denying that HTC's latest flagship smartphone, the HTC One is turning out to be a success for HTC. When I spent time with the smartphone I was very impressed and according to a new report so is Google. Just like Google announced a Samsung Galaxy S4 running stock Android and giving it a Nexus user experience, it is now believed Google and HTC will do the same with the HTC One in the summer.

Once Google finished announcing the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition many Android fans took to online forums and Twitter voicing their opinion that they would like to see Google do the same thing with the HTC One.

HTC denied the that it was working on a 'Nexus Edition' of the HTC One, which was the wise thing to do as to not potentially hurt sales of the HTC One. LlabTooFeR  is an HTC developer, a reliable source with a good track record of upcoming HTC smartphones and recently tweeted that Google and HTC will in fact be releasing an HTC One Google Edition smartphone. The HTC One Google Edition will drop Sense 5, just like the Galaxy S4 dropped TouchWiz in order to run stock Android.

The Google Edition smartphones will be treated just like Google's Nexus devices, complete stock Android, unlocked bootloaders (makes it easy for developers to work with the device), and provide prompt system updates. Anyone with a Nexus device will tell you that it is a great device to choose because once Google releases an Android update, Nexus users receive the update straight from Google. There's no need to go through carrier testing or approval for updates, which can sometimes take months to hit smartphones and tablets, if ever.
