‘The Voice’ UK Open Mic Auditions Have Started: Here Are The Details

"The Voice" UK open mic auditions have started on April 12. Anybody, who is interested in using the platform to promote their singing talent, is asked to be a part of the ITV talent hunt show. There are several open mic nights to be held around the United Kingdom for the upcoming season in 2018.

"The Voice" UK is a chance for singers to break into the music industry. However, they have to go through a blind audition process, where they have to convince at least one star from judges to take them in their team to proceed further. There are revolving chairs involved in the process, as judges do not see participants unless they like the performance.

"The Voice" UK open mic auditions started last night in Tunbridge Wells. It was held at Chequers Inn in The Broadway, Lamberhurst. On April 13, there will be a number of auditions. The Hornchurch auditions will be held at The Crown (360 Hornchurch Road). The Southend-On-Sea auditions are at Peggy Sue's Music Bar and Diner (1063A London Road), and the Grays auditions are at The Ship (Dock Road). Interested participants are requested to contact dorionquest@hotmail.com. A number of other auditions will be held in the coming days until May 24. More details are available on the official website.

According to the BBC, "The Voice" UK is yet to find a real star from the show, even though it has found some good singers. The talent hunt show is still in search of a "bona fide superstar," selling a huge number of records. Some of the fine singers that the show has discovered include Leanne Mitchell, Andrea Begley, and Jermain Jackman. It also had Becky Hill, one of the most successful singers to appear on the show. One interesting exception is Bo Bruce who released her debut album, "Before I Sleep," for Mercury Records and was among the top ten in 2013.
