Nokia Lumia 925 Coming To India Sooner Than Expected

The recently launched Nokia Lumia 925 is initially expected to reach the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and China, and the handset will then arrive in other regions including the U.S. Even though Nokia did not specify when Indian customers can expect the handset it seems that the smartphone will debut in India sooner than expected.

The Lumia 925 is appearing on the Nokia India website with a "Coming Soon" label, indicating that the handset will soon be available in India in the not too distant future.

Nokia Lumia smartphones are becoming increasingly popular in India and are continuously growing in numbers. Recently, the Indian smartphone market has seen a big demand for Lumia handsets. The entry-level smartphones like Lumia 520 and Lumia 620 have been welcomed well by Indian consumers and now Nokia has a big range of Lumia devices available in India.

Nokia already has the Lumia 920 in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 38262 (around $691). Nokia has not confirmed the pricing of the Lumia 925 in India but as many market observers believe that the Lumia 925 is just a minor update to the Lumia 920, customers will hope that the price of the latest Lumia 925 is not very high when compared to the Lumia 920.

The Lumia 925 sports a 4.5-inch HD AMOLED display with 1280 x 768 resolution and 334 pixels per inch (ppi). The handset is made of polycarbonate, but sports an aluminum side frame, which also serves as the antenna. The handset is equipped with an 8.7-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, dual LED flash and optical image stabilization, same as that on the Lumia 920.

The Lumia 925 has a dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and 1 GB of RAM. The handset has only 16 GB of internal memory and no option to expand using a microSD card. A 2000 mAh battery powers the handset.

The Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone measures 5.08 x 2.78 x 0.33 inches and weighs 4.90 ounces.
