'Last Man Standing' In The Talks Of Revival After Getting Cancelled

Just last month, ABC revealed the cancellation of its hit sitcom “Last Man Standing’. The announcement was met with fury from fans of the show. Even star of the show Tim Allen thought that it was unfair.

However, it seems like “Last Man Standing” will not go without a fight. Entertainment Weekly recently confirmed that CMT will probably pick up the show for a new season. Sources revealed that CMT is still in the early stages of discussion on reviving the sitcom. If the Tim Allen show gets revived by CMT, it will possibly mean a shortened season.

Insiders further reveal that restoring “Last Man Standing” through CMT is a long shot. The channel is taking all aspects into consideration and they are reportedly mostly concerned if the revival makes sense creatively and financially. They simply pointed out that the talks for the revival may either come together quickly or die on the spot.

ABC received backlash when it pulled the plug off from “Last Man Standing”. The said show was actually enjoying high viewership ratings so the decision confused fans and even the cast. Tim Allen suspected that the network canceled the show because of political biases. Allen is well-known for his support for the incumbent president of the United States, Donald Trump. Allen shared that he was stunned and blinded by ABC, which was a place he called home for the six years.

Channing Dungey, ABC Entertainment president, explained that they canceled the sitcom simply because they had to scrape off comedy shows from their Friday schedule. He added that everything happened for the same business and scheduling reasons they announced for canceling their other shows like “American Crime”. Since the cancellation of “Last Man Standing”, fans have petitioned online for it to be brought back and with CMT considering it, all are hoping that the revival will push through soon.
