Samsung forced to announce Galaxy Ace 3 before June 20 event

Samsung has had to officially announce the Galaxy Ace 3 after its specs and press image got leaked online. The company was expected to officially announce and unveil the smartphone at its June 20 event in London. However, just as  the company was forced to announce the Galaxy S4 variants it had originally planned on announcing at the event, after images and specs of the handsets had all leaked, Samsung had, once again, to come out and officially announce the Galaxy Ace 3 long before the originally planned date.

We had reported that the Galaxy Ace 3 press image and specs were leaked online. It was expected to join the Galaxy S4 Mini, S4 Active, and S4 Zoom for an official unveiling at Samsung's Galaxy and ATIV launch event in London on June 20. However, it appears that someone who had good knowledge of the devices that were expected to launch, had decided to leak them to the world before Samsung could give them a proper send off.

Samsung has released a press statement announcing the Galaxy Ace 3. The smartphone will be available in three versions, a single SIM 3G, duo SIM 3G, and a 4G LTE model. The handset features a 4-inch 400 X 800 TFT display, run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with TouchWiz Nature UX, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, include 4GB of internal storage, a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 32GB microSD cards, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, 4G LTE radio (in LTE model) and a removable 1500 mAh battery.

The company is including some of its Smartfunction software found on its most recent Galaxy S4 smartphone and upcoming variants in the Galaxy Ace 3. They are - S Translator, which provides instantaneous translations; S Travel, which provides travel information and software for planning trips; Smart Stay, which can determine when a user is looking at the display and if the user turns away the display will automatically dims the screen to conserve power; S Voice, which is Samsung's answer to Siri and provides users an on board virtual assistant; and Easy Mode, which offers users a simple and intuitive home screen that has quick access to the functions used most on the smartphone.

As we pointed out earlier, Samsung can look on the bright side that none of its ATIV hardware has been leaked, and hopefully it won't. So, the company can have at least few surprises for the world on June 20.
