Are we looking at the real Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

The grapevine is abuzz with rumors that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is set to hit the shelves soon. Whether the release happens earlier than expected in July/August or September is another story, but now an alleged image of the Galaxy Note 3 has leaked online.

The authenticity of the leaked image is circumspect, with the likelihood of it being a dummy unit being high.

The leaked image comes courtesy of G4Games who stumbled upon the supposed Galaxy Note 3 photo. The leaked image was originally posted by Twitter user who goes by the handle @punkpanda.

The leakster has disclosed that the Galaxy Note 3 will sport a 6-inch screen (as has been previously rumored). The tweet from @punkpanda accompanying the alleged Galaxy Note 3 image simply revealed "6 inches, screen accounting for 84%. I can not tell you this is Galaxy Note 3 :)".

A closer look at the leaked image reveals that the supposed Galaxy Note 3 has rounded edges, whereas previous leaks have hinted at straight edges. However, the narrow bezels on the handset is something that is common in both last week's leak and this image.

Rumors and leaks have suggested that the impending Galaxy Note 3 will come with several new features, including a colossal 6-inch 1080p display. The smartphone is also speculated to house the Exynos 5 octa-core processor, a 13- or 16-megapixel primary camera, Android 4.3 and possibly a flexible screen.

The legitimacy of the leaked image is anybody's guess. We'll have to hold on to our horses and take the leak with a pinch of salt till Samsung takes the wraps off the Galaxy Note 3 either at the IFA in Berlin or earlier.
