You Can Now 'Double Thumbs Up' Your Favorite Shows and Movies on Netflix

The "Double Thumbs Up" has been released on Netflix.

Aside from the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down, a Double Thumb Up has been rolled out by Netflis. Users can use this feature to let Netflix know how much they truly love and adore a piece of content they have watched or are watching.

By providing Netflix with an additional way to tell them that you love certain content, the company will be able to create a better profile of recommendations that are more accurate representations of your interests.

Netflix Double Thumbs Up

Netflix has always been the go-to platform for entertainment. Have you ever experienced discovering a great movie that deserves the hype? How about finally finding a series in your alley of genres?

Finding a gem on Netflix can be rewarding at times, not only for our entertainment, but also because sometimes you just want to spread the word on how awesome that movie or series is and you want other people to relate to it as well.

Admit it, we often ask our friends, family, partners, coworkers, and scour the internet for film and movie recommendations. It looks like Netflix looks like they have been very well aware of this commonly happening all the time.

With that, Netflix is releasing the "Double Thumbs Up" feature. "Double Thumbs Up" is an additional way for us, subscribers, to let Netflix know what types of series and films we want to see more of from them in the future.

As announced by Netflix, starting today, we will be able to find this option next to the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons on the television, web browser, and Android and iOS mobile devices.

According to The Verge, director of product innovation and personalization experiences at Netflix, Christine Doig-Cardet, stated: "Members have never had as many great entertainment options as they have right now." Being able to find shows and movies that you're going to love is really important. We want to continue to make Netflix the place where it's easiest to choose something to watch. "

Christine Doig-Cardet added: "We hope to end choice fatigue with new features that we're adding this year. It's a huge part of where we want to invest - providing those mechanisms to give more of the control back to the user to help tailor their experience to their personal taste."

Why the Addition of the Double Thumbs Up Update?

Feedback through Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons on a series or movie helps Netflix better understand user preferences. When you actively participate by pressing Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down, and Double Thumbs Up, this helps Netflix build a better understanding of what you like more and what you do not, which will eventually result in tailor-made recommendations for you.

You should think of  the Double Thumbs Up as a way to fine-tune your recommendations so that you can see even more series or films that are influenced by what you enjoy. A Thumbs Up still informs Netflix of what you enjoyed, and they can use this information to make similar recommendations in the future.

A Double Thumbs Up, on the other hand, tells us exactly what you enjoyed and allows Netflix to be even more specific with our recommendations.

Longtime Netflix subscribers must be familiar with the five-star rating system implemented on the platform before. However, according to Digital Trends, it was replaced in 2017 with simple thumbs-up or thumbs-down buttons.

The Double Thumbs Up seems to be an update after five years. A new version that gives us more control over how we express our liking, love, and adoration for a piece of Netflix content.
