New iPhone 5S image and full specs leak, new 4-inch IGZO display, fingerprint scanner, and more

New images of what is supposedly the iPhone 5S have leaked along with its reported specs. If true, Apple is really going to justify the S moniker this time around.

The iPhone 5S is expected to be very similar to the iPhone 5 in terms of design. When Apple releases an "S" device consumers can usually expect a similar design to the previous iPhone and some upgraded internals. The iPhone 4S mirrored the iPhone 4's design, but included updated specs and introduced the world to Siri. There have been many rumors in what the 5S will bring to justify its name but if a new report is to be believed, Apple is going to add some impressive specs to its next flagship smartphone.

A new report claims to show images of the iPhone 5S in production, although it's hard to verify since it is expected to be identical to the iPhone 5's case. The site also claims to reveal the specs of the upcoming smartphone. If this report is true, this will be the biggest "S" update to any iPhone.

The site claims that Apple will ship the iPhone 5S with a new 4-inch 1136 x 640 IGZO display that will be built by Sharp or LG. The new display will offer better image quality and also have the added benefit of saving power. The site reports that the 5S will also include the rumored fingerprint scanner, which was just reported to cause a delay in its initial shipments. The smartphone will get a bump in RAM, with 2GB being reported. It will use an A6 processor with its clock speed at a higher rate and will be quad-core based. The 5S will reportedly pack in a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash. It is also suggested that the handset with have improved LTE, it's not clear if it will use an LTE-Advanced radio like the recently launched Galaxy S4 LTE-Advanced. Apple is also including a larger battery with the 5S as well.

Take this report with a grain of salt, we're likely to hear more and more iPhone 5S leaks as we get closer to its announcement in September.
