US Cellular releasing Moto X on Aug. 26

A leaked internal document of US Cellular suggests that the Moto X will launch on the carrier on Aug. 29.

Rumors and pictures of the upcoming Android-powered Moto X have been very rampant in the recent weeks. Motorola has definitely confirmed that it is working on a smartphone named the Moto X but the company has not officially confirmed the exact launch of the handset. However, it seems that the upcoming smartphone will make its appearance soon in August this year.

"We have a hero device that's coming out that's going to be called Moto X," said Motorola CEO, Dennis Woodside in late May.

This is not the first time that a launch date of the Moto X has emerged for a U.S. carrier. A previous leaked roadmap of Verizon indicates that the handset will arrive on the carrier on Aug. 23.

"The Motorola Moto X will launch from Verizon on August 23rd. From what we know about the phone, those ordering it online will be able to pick a color for the back cover and another color for the trim. The phone can also be engraved on the back. However, if you go into a retailer to buy the phone, you will have to buy a standardized version in black," reads a report from Phone Arena, who claims it received the roadmap from an anonymous tipster.

The highly-anticipated Moto X is supposed to have top-end features, which will give stiff competition to other high-end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, iPhone 5 and more.

If rumors are to be believed, then the Moto X will sport a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 768 resolution protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The Moto X is expected to be water resistant and dust proof with IP57 certification. The handset is rumored to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a massive 4,000 mAh battery.

Recently-launched smartphones have started arriving with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean straight out of the box. So, we're expecting that the Moto X will have at least Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, if not Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

With August not very far away, we will have to wait a bit more for the company to officially announce the handset.
