Gamers buckle up! Halo Infinite is coming this August.

Halo Infinite's developer 343 Industries announced that the game's long-awaited network co-op campaign mode is finally scheduled for release this August.

The information is according to the latest roadmap published by the developer. However, 343 Industries did not provide an exact release date yet.

The new mode, according Windows Central, will come with the ability to replay story missions, which is something that Halo Infinite does not have from launch.

Game's head of creative Joseph Staten said in a post that 343 Industries is targeting an open beta for Halo Infinite's Forge mode in September.

As part of this roadmap, the developer extended the length of Halo Infinite season 2. Season 3 is now slated to begin on Nov. 8, 2022, as per Windows Central report.

Staten said that the primary reason for extending the length of the season is "to fully address quality of life improvements based on learnings from season 1 as well as other data and feedback that they've collected," while maintaining the health of the development team.

In the same post, he also stated that season 2 is introducing "multiplayer narrative events" that feature a player's Spartan in an ongoing storyline.

Windows Central reported that Halo Infinite season 3 is set to include split screen co-op, as well as a new Battle Pass, more maps, and more modes.

Staten ended his post by expressing 343 Industries' commitment to delivering more content faster. He also promised that the developer will accelerate while prioritizing team health.

Gamers can expect quality of life (QoL) improvements during seasons via Drop Pods, and more regular roadmap updates.

Likewise, Staten expressed his gratitude to the gamers' passion and patience as Halo Infinite embark on the road ahead.

He added that they are "fired up to deliver what's already on the roadmap as well as to deliver other content and experiences that they are not ready to reveal just yet."

Forge May Arrive Earlier than Its Original Schedule

Report from PC Gamer said that Forge may be arrived before its original schedule in season 3. However, it comes again with a condition: it's listed for an open beta targeting September.

The goal is to get Forge into players' hands more quickly, 343 Industries explains, in order for custom maps to start making their way into multiplayer:

"We've successfully had Forge in private flighting with a limited audience for some time, so we've decided to forgo a large-scale formal flighting program and go right to open beta. With this approach, we can get the core Forge tools out to everyone quicker while also remaining focused on our core priority of continuing to improve foundational aspects of Halo Infinite. Forge will persist from the open beta onwards, evolving and growing over time." Staten said in the post published.

Halo Infinite is a 2021 first-person shooter game developed by 343 Industries and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is about the human supersoldier Master Chief and his fight against the enemy Banished on the Forerunner ringworld Zeta Halo, also known as Installation 07.
