Things You Can Do in Genshin Impact When You’re Out of Resin

Imagine you're having a Genshin Impact session one Saturday morning. You've done your daily commissions, earned your primogems, and went to the game's various domains, leylines, and bosses to earn the materials needed to level up ascend your character, their skills, and their weapons.

After doing so, you felt the desire to do one more domain, but you weren't able to earn anything.

Unfortunately for you, however, you are [now] resinless.

To earn character, talent, and weapon ascension materials, you'll need to spend some resin after you clear Domains, leylines, and boss fights.

What are you going to do?

How To Replenish Resin

Resin is the Genshin Impact's equivalent of a stamina meter in other games. Although resin eventually replenishes automatically in the game, you'll probably have to wait for a long time as you regain a single amount of resin in eight minutes.

To completely replenish resin, you'll either have to spend fragile resins, which are hard to come by (unless you pay for them) or wait for 21 hours and 20 minutes fully replenish your stock.

You can also use primogems to replenish your resin, but it isn't worth doing as you'll need them to roll in the game's gacha, section, or Wish.

What To Do In The Meantime?

Genshin Impact is a game set in Teyvat, a world that you can explore to your heart's content. During your journey to find your sibling and find the Unknown God that sealed you away in Teyvat, you'll encounter and discover new and unique locations and meet new characters. These characters could join you and either assist or hinder you in your adventures and fight the local flora and fauna.

Here are some ways for you to pass the time while you are out of resin:

Open Every Treasure Chest In Teyvat

Aside from nations, flora, fauna, and breathtaking locations, Teyvat is also full of treasure chests waiting to be unlocked. These treasure chests will give you some primogems to use to roll for new characters, artifact and weapon ascension fodder, and some mora, which is essential in the game to create and buy items.

The contents of these treasure chests depend on how rare the treasure chest is. Looking for all of them gives you some bragging rights and a large amount of mora and resin to use as you see fit.

If you decide to embark on this resinless quest, you can refer to HoYoverse's interactive map for Genshin Impact to find out where these treasure chests are.

Defeat Every Enemy

Teyvat may be mostly peaceful, but some areas may be a lot more dangerous than usual due to the presence of hostile flora and fauna. Even the local and indigenous people can become hostile to you at some point in the game.

However, these hostile flora and fauna drop materials can help you upgrade your characters and weapons, so defeating every enemy you can find is worth your while.

If you're looking for a specific enemy, though, you can head over to your Adventurer's Handbook in-game or refer to HoYoverse's interactive map to find them.

Mine Ores

Ores are crucial if you want to create weapons for your characters. Although earning the weapon billets you need may be troublesome because you have to fight the game's weekly bosses to acquire one (billets aren't guaranteed to drop, unfortunately), ores are abundant.

However, certain ores in the game are exclusive to a region in Teyvat, and as such, they can only be discovered when you head over to a specific nation and either use the map to find them, your memory, or a character that has the talent to find ores or nation-specific resources. (e.g. Ningguang for ore and Qiqi for any resource exlusive in Liyue.)

Explore Teyvat (And Roleplay In The Process)

As previously mentioned, Teyvat is a world ripe for exploring. If you're filled with digital wanderlust, explore Teyvat, and you'll be able to find locations that are difficult not to take pictures of or breathtaking scenery that is amazing for a free-to-play game.

Inazuma is an isolated country due to the Sakoku Decree from the reigning archon of the country, preventing anyone from entering or leaving it without express permission from its government. However, at one point, you'll be able to set sail on your little boat from there to Liyue and Mondstadt in a single sitting while pretending to be pirates from The Crux Fleet.

Try To Conquer The Spiral Abyss Successfully

The Spiral Abyss is the arena of all arenas in Genshin Impact. Taking on the challenge of the Spiral Abyss will not only test how well you know your characters' strengths and weaknesses and your skill as a player.

You'll be subjected to a plethora of timed challenges, each with its own unique twist. You'll have to defeat enemies that either come in waves or by rounds.

Successfully defeating them in the least amount of time gives you the highest possible number of primogems and a free artifact for your characters.
