Diablo Immortal China Release

As per a news story by Game Rant, the partner of the giant gaming firm, NetEase, has officially postponed the release of Diablo Immortal indefinitely, pushing back its scheduled launch.

The China-based firm, NetEase, blames a couple of technical issues, which messes up the gaming experience of Diablo Immortal.

However, bystanders could not help but speculate another deeper reason behind the abrupt postponement of the all-new Blizzard mobile gaming title.

Diablo Immortal Weibo Post

Game Rant also suggests that the delayed release might have something to do with a post on the social media giant in China, Weibo.

It might have started with a post from the official account of Diablo Immortal on the Chinese counterpart of Twitter in the Asian territory, Weibo.

A Weibo post from Diablo Immortal Weibo last May 22 reportedly translates to "why hasn't the bear stepped down."

According to a recent report by Dexerto, another translation of the Chinese post says "Why isn't Winnie the bear going out of office yet?"

It is worth noting that the President of China, Xi Jinping, has been compared, mostly by critics, to the cute fictional bear Winnie the Pooh in the past.

BEIJING, CHINA - APRIL 08: Chinese President Xi Jinping buttons his jacket at a ceremony to honour contributions to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics at the Great Hall of the People on April 8, 2022 in Beijing, China.

As much as Winnie the Pooh is a adorably fictional bear, the leader of China appears to dislike the comparison between them.

Dexerto notes in its report that Overwatch players in China have reportedly been permanently banned from merely typing "Winnie the Pooh" in the in-game chat.

Diablo Immortal Banned in China?

All that said, a recent post on Reddit claims that the new mobile gaming title of Blizzard has been banned in the Chinese country.

A recent post from the subreddit of Diablo Immortal claims that the game got completely banned in the Chinese nation.

The Reddit post also explains that the whole thing was a blunder from the marketing team of Diablo Immortal, who might have likely forgotten to switch his account to his personal one.

However, the Reddit thread further said that "now, we don't know if he forgot to switch the account or he used DI's official account intentionally.''

The controversial post went viral on Chinese Twitter, and the Reddit post says that NetEase is facing the consequences.
