The new Nexus 7 LTE version is finally available via the Google Play store in the U.S. at a price tag of $349.
Google launched the refreshed version of the Nexus 7 in July this year along with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. The LTE version of the new Nexus 7 reached other regions but until now only customers in the U.S. only had the option to buy the Wi-Fi-only version of the device via the Google Play Store.
"Starting today, Nexus 7 with 4G LTE is available for purchase on +Google Play in the US [https://goo.gl/YL7FBy] and will be coming to +T-Mobile stores in the US in October!" reads the Nexus page on Google+.
The Google Play store version is unlocked and it also comes with a T-Mobile SIM card, which offers 2GB of free data for one month. Once that month has passed you'll either have to sign up for a T-Mobile plan or switch to an alternate carrier. The new Nexus 7 will support the T-Mobile LTE network, AT&T LTE network and Verizon. The device will also support T-Mobile HSPA+ network and the AT&T 3G network; however, the tablet won't be compatible with the Verizon CDMA network.
The refreshed version of the Nexus 7 is definitely a step up and incorporates many enhancements when compared to its predecessor. The new Nexus 7 sports a 7.02-inch LCD HD display with a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi). The tablet also includes scratch-resistant Corning Glass.
The latest Nexus tablet features a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The tablet also sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, which was missing in the previous model. The device is also equipped with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. A 3,950mAh battery powers the new Nexus 7. The tablet measures 7.87 x 4.49 x 0.34 inches and weighs 10.55 ounces.
The Nexus 7 had attracted many customers looking to buy a smaller tablet. The company will hope that the refreshed Nexus 7 will also get a similar or better reception like the previous iteration.
