The JRPG franchise Persona have remastered three of its games to make it available for current gaming platforms. Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will now be re-released. The Japanese role-playing games will soon be available to the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and PC this coming January 19th, 2023, according to The Verge.

Atlus, the video game company that developed the Persona franchise, has announced the re-release on Twitter. It states that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden can now be played on modern platforms.

Persona 3 Portable

The protagonist in the game is an orphan who returns to his/her childhood city, transferring to Gekkoukan High School. The thrill of the game begins when the main character is attacked by Shadows, which are creatures that feed on the minds of their victims.

The attack will then awaken the character's Persona, known as Orpheus. His persona will give the main character a chance to defeat the creatures that go bump in the night. Your character will also discover that he/she is not alone.

The Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, or SEES, is a group of students that have the same ability as the protagonist. He/she will then join the squad to help defeat the Shadows every Dark Hour.

Persona 3 Portable was initially launched on PSP in 2009.

Persona 4 Golden

The game takes place in a quiet town named Inaba in Japan. The story revolves around the journey of the protagonist and his friends, which began when a chain of serial murders happened.

According to the official website of Atlus, P4G has an overall Metacritic score of 93 and won many awards. This makes the game one of the finest RPG games ever made as enthralling and quintessential Persona gameplay.

The remastered version will add a lot of new content and will have convenience features to update the original game. Additional content includes new Social Links, a new dungeon, a new bad ending, more difficulty levels to choose from, new music tracks and voice-over dialogue, new animated cut-scenes, more events and more Personas.

The game was launched on PS Vita back in 2012.

Persona 5 Royal

Persona 5 will feature a protagonist named Xander Mobus with a Persona called Arsene. He is a second-year high school student who transferred to a new school, Shujin Academy. During the day, the main character will attend classes and socialize with friends. At night, he will be wearing the mask of the Phantom Thief, who will steal the hearts of corrupt adults.

The game will be released on October 21, 2022. The physical game for the console can be bought for $59.99. It will contain the base game and 40 items of downloadable content that have been released before.

It will be available on October 21 for pre-order for the Xbox series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC by buying it on Steam or the Microsoft Store. It is also available for PS4 and Xbox game pass.
