New Sonos Update Fixes Arc and Sub Bugs

Sonos troubleshoots volume and Trueplay bugs to enhance system performance following Arc and Sub user complaints.

The software 14.18 update recently released by Sonos brings home theater setup optimizations to their soundbars, The Vocal Vixen writes.

Sonos Recalibrates Their Sound Systems For Arc and Sub

Since the last update Sonos released two months ago, owners have complained about the subpar performance of their home theater setups.

Customers are dissatisfied with the volume bugs present in their Arc and Sub units, claiming that their Trueplay systems deteriorate when connected to Sonos.

According to The Verge, customers have been noticing that the bass level on lower volumes is not as good as before, which "robs" them of an optimum experience.

As mentioned before, Sonos users claim that the software 14.12 update has caused the bugs that affect the voice quality on the soundbars, which developers hope to fix with the new update.

The company has tried to fix the sound bug through the software 14.16 update, but it only focused on playing stereo audio from Bluetooth scores and switching to Bluetooth mode.

However, with the rollout of Sonos 14.18 yesterday, Sonos says that the company has addressed these issues while still retaining the Enhanced Clarity feature for Arc adjustments.

The Vocal Vixen says that Sonos 14.18 will let users hear a more powerful bass response at any sublevel adjustments after updating Trueplay to 14.18.

Sonos Support writes that users can opt to manually update their software by going to the phone's Settings tab and choosing the System Updates option to check for updates.

On the other hand, customers may also choose to schedule updates to the Sonos System by going to their phone's Settings tab and choosing Update Automatically under System Updates.

Customers Can Also Look Forward To New Sonos Speakers

After the bug configurations implemented on Arc and Sub to recalibrate their system features, fans are now anticipating the release of the company's next smart speaker.

Optimo 2 allegedly delivers an immersive listening experience with drivers that fire in all directions in replacement of the Sonos 5.

According to The Verge, Optimo 2 supports music playback over WiFi and Bluetooth, and will feature automatic sound tuning to optimize its performance with specific settings.

Sonos CEO Patrick Spence says that the company's sales revenue has dipped in the third quarter of this year, which is why they are focusing on things they can control instead.

Spence believes that along with improving the currently existing products, it would be good for the company to invest in new innovations and products that will make Sonos better.

Prior to this, The Guardian reports that Sonos is also coming out with a Sonos Sub Mini speaker, which is a more compact bass upgrade of the Sonos Sub.

Nonetheless, should customers choose to stick with their older Sonos home theater setups, they can update their systems via Android 8, iOS 14, macOS 10.11 and Windows 8 or later.
