People on Reddit are Sharing Which Unsolved Mysteries They Want to See Solved Before They Die

For as long as we can remember, there have been unsolved mysteries that continue to puzzle people even to this day. They do not necessarily have to be criminal in nature, though they seem to have grown in popularity in recent years thanks to true crime documentaries.

These unsolved mysteries have actually led many to become online sleuths trying to uncover clues and discover the truth. It is probably no surprise that some asked the question "What's one unsolved mystery you'd like to see solved before you die?" in the r/AskReddit subreddit.

Here are some of the replies:

Bain Family Murders

Reddit user tomazinak asked one simple question in his reply, "Did David Bain kill his family?"

The question refers to what is known as the Bain family murders, which took place on New Zealand on June 20, 1994. Husband and wife Robert and Margaret Bain were shot and killed, as were three of their four children. Charged with the murders of his family members was Robert and Margaret's eldest son, David.

He was eventually sentenced to life in prison. However, he was eventually acquitted of all charges in 2009.

Disappearance of Andrew Gosden

A reply to the Reddit thread that received 9,800 upvotes as of press time is about the disappearance of Andrew Gosden.

Andrew Gosden, then aged 14, disappeared in London on September 14, 2007. He first left home dressed in his school uniform. He was then seen withdrawing money from his bank account.

"He went back home after his parents had gone to work and changed out of his uniform, then went to the train station and bought a one way ticket to London (about two hours away by train)," Redditor kank84 narrated. Gosden was last seen leaving the King's Cross station.

Disappearance of Brian Shaffer

Another disappearance that Reddit users wants solved involves Brian Shaffer, who disappeared in 2006. At the time of his disappearance, he was a medical student at the Ohio State University and had gone out on March 31 with his friends to head to a bar.

He was last seen by the entrance of the bar before 2 a.m. on April 1 and security camera footage caught him heading back inside. However, he has not been seen since.

Disappearance of William Tyrrell

William Tyrrell was only three years old when he disappeared while playing at his foster grandmother's house in Kendall, a town in Australia, with his sister. He had been wearing a Spider-Man suit when he disappeared.

The young child was initially believed to be abducted. However, his foster mother eventually became a person of interest in the case, according to a report by 9News. A report in 2021 by ABC that the police shifted their search for the remains of the boy.

The Location of Keith Bennett's Remains

Keith Bennett is one of the five children who lost their lives after being killed, with the murders eventually being known as the Moors Murders. The murders and sexual assaults, in some cases, were carried out by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between July 1963 and October 1965. The murders took place in around Manchester in the United Kingdom.

While the bodies of some of the children have been found, the same cannot be said for Keith Bennett. However, author and investigator Russell Edwards has claimed that he has found Bennett's remains, according to a report by the BBC. The police, however, say otherwise.
