5 Ways to Avoid Getting Suspended on Twitter

Twitter remains to be one of the most popular social media networks in the world. Millions of users are on the platform tweeting their thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Some are on the platform to interact with other users.

The platform remains popular despite the many controversies and challenges that it is experiencing today. Just recently, billionaire Elon Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion. Since then, issues such as layoffs, and mass resignation of employees have been on the news.

But many people continue to use Twitter. And people find it annoying when they are banned from their accounts. In this article, we listed five ways to avoid getting suspended on the platform.

1. Avoid Aggressive Following in Order to Get More Followers

Twitter does not limit the number of followers you can have or the number of accounts that you can follow. There are some third-party follower-gaining tools that can get you hundreds of followers a day. According to Techlanes, you can use it once a day and it will not affect your account.

However, if you will use more than one follower-gaining tool, Twitter might start noticing that you suddenly get a large number of followers. Twitter has a mechanism to monitor profiles that follow aggressively. The social media platform tends to suspend the account for some days until you request a ticket.

2. Avoid Aggressive Unfollowing

On Twitter, you are free to unfollow any account whenever you like. All you have to do is visit their account and click unfollow. But just like the aggressive following, you should also avoid aggressive unfollowing.

While you can unfollow a certain number of users a day, unfollowing more than the limit can result in the suspension of your account. There are also tools that you can use to unfollow many users at once but you have to be careful in using these tools because Twitter monitors your move.

3. Avoid Abusive Tweets to Prevent Yourself From Getting Blocked

While Twitter is used to express your thoughts, feelings, and ideas, you should avoid posting abusive tweets. These kinds of tweets can cause others to block you on the platform. And if you are blocked by too many users, Twitter might suspend your account.

Another reason why people might block you is that they receive spam DMs from you. These spam DMs can be a result of third-party tools that you are using. To prevent this from happening, avoid using these kinds of tools.

4. Be Active on Your Twitter Account

If your account has been sitting idle for a long time, without any activity, Twitter might get suspicious about it. According to Cybermark, Twitter regularly suspends accounts that have not been used for six months or longer. So, if you decided to sign up on the social media platform, be ready to use it every once in a while, in order to avoid account suspension.

5. Don't Post the Same Content Repeatedly

Avoid posting images, links, or other content repeatedly as Twitter might view this as spamming. Posting the same content repeatedly is considered spam on the social media platform and it's definitely not allowed.

You can't also trick the platform by just rewording your posts slightly. To make sure your content will not be read as spam, post a wide variety of content.
