Sprint HTC One getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean , T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon to follow suit

HTC One owners in the U.S. are set to receive the much-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, with Sprint's variant of the HTC flagship smartphone being the first.

The news is from the horse's mouth, as HTC USA has revealed more details via a Twitter post. HTC has disclosed the rollout schedule of the four major U.S. carriers and Sprint was due to begin releasing the update from Oct. 2. AT&T and T-Mobile are expected to push out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to their variants of the HTC One by mid-October. Verizon will be the last as usual, with the software update hitting its variant by October end.

"HTC One 4.3 updates starting to roll out for @Sprint customers today! Expect @ATT & @TMobile updates by mid-Oct, @Verizon by end of Oct.," HTC announced via a tweet on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Back in August, HTC President Jason Mackenzie had revealed that the HTC One was set to get updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in the U.S. and Canada by September.

"Lots of questions re 4.3 release for One. We r wrking hard (needs cert) to release 4.3 across all US, Canada skus by end Sept. DNA as well," tweeted Jason Mackenzie at the time.

The update did not roll out in end-September as promised, but the delay hasn't been very long.

Additionally, Sprint has taken to its community page to reveal the improvements and new features the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update brings users' way. The Sprint software version is 3.04.651.2.

According to Sprint, the enhancements/fixes the software update brings are as follows:

- Fixes issue where Swype does not automatically enter spaces in Exchange email

- Application Updates: Sprint Zone, Visual Voicemail

- HTC Sense stability improvements

- Updating OS from 4.1.2 to 4.3 (Minor update)

Owners of the 4.7-inch HTC One, which touts the company's new UltraPixel camera, will finally be able to get a taste of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean very soon, if they haven't already. In August, a pre-release version of the software update had leaked online for the international variant of the HTC One and was available as a custom ROM, hinting that the official release was round the corner.

With the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update set to reach all U.S. consumers by the end of this month, HTC One owners can finally breathe easy. The other carriers will roll out the update soon as well.
