Nicolas Cage To Enter Dead by Daylight’s Realms

Nicolas Cage is coming to Day by Daylight.

Video game developer Behaviour Interactive recently revealed that actor Nicolas Cage is coming to its popular asymmetric survival horror game in a teaser trailer posted on Twitter.

Behaviour has yet to release more details about Cage's addition to the game, though it promised to reveal more in the future.

Behaviour mentioned in its recent Twitter post that the popular actor of "National Treasure" and "Kick-Ass" fame would face off against the Entity's killers soon, adding that it would be "the performance of a lifetime."

The video game developer also included a teaser trailer in its post, with it showing Cage and what seems to be a thrashed production set. "There is nothing more powerful than imagination," Cage said in the teaser. "It can shape the fabric of reality, transforming everything you may think you know."

While the teaser didn't show if Cage would be a survivor or killer in-game, Eurogamer revealed that he would join Dad by Daylight's survivors as they elude and escape the Entity's summoned killers and realms. The publication showed the actor's official blurb, which states that Cage has "seen it all and done it all - or so he thought."

The blurb continues to say that the Entity summoned him into its grasp while on set filming the role of a lifetime, which could explain the production set shown in the teaser.

Not much is known about Cage's abilities in-game, though Behavior promises it will reveal more come July 5. However, it is possible the video game developer will reveal more about Cage next week when it celebrates Dead by Daylight's anniversary with a livestream of new announcements.

While Behaviour has featured characters from other horror franchises like "Scream's" Ghostface, "Halloween's" Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, and "Evil Dead's" Ash Williams, this is the first time it adds a celebrity playing as themselves into the game.

Nevertheless, this move from Behaviour is set to generate some press and hype for the next update for Dead by Daylight, which could release sometime soon.

Dead by Daylight Details

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric 4v1 multiplayer horror game released in 2016 in which four players act as survivors as they do their best to avoid capture (or death) in the hands of a player-controlled killer in semi-procedural locations within the World of the Entity.

Each survivor and killer come with unique abilities that could tip the odds in their favor, which could be taught and shared with other fellow survivors and killers when players meet certain conditions. However, it is up to players to utilize these abilities to win the match.

The game currently features 31 killers and 36 survivors ranging from original characters to those licensed from other horror franchises like Resident Evil, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," and even "Ringu" and "Hellraiser."
