5 Video Games That Could be Great Live Adaptations

Since video games are now being eyed by the film and TV show industries, we can't help but think about other video games that would be exciting to see on the big and small screens. Here are a few that would be great adaptations, with some even on its way to being produced.

1. Horizon Zero Dawn

The game follows the narrative of Aloy, a young hunter exploring a post-apocalyptic world full of machines and primitive tribes. What makes the scenery in the game whimsical is that the machines seem to be a part of nature somehow, apart from those that will try to kill you.

If that's something you're interested in seeing, then you might be glad to know that Netflix is already working on a live adaptation of it. We can expect that Aloy will also be the protagonist and it will also follow her story of uncovering her past. Hopefully, it actually does go well.

2. Assassin's Creed: Origins

The Assassin's Creed franchise has already spawned one movie starring Michael Fassbender, where the main character Cal is used to access the memories of his ancestors through the Animus. However, it didn't actually get the praise it was hoping for.

Assassin's Creed: Origins, as the title suggests, follows the events that started the Assassin Brotherhood or Assassin Order. It would be a great way to start anew, especially since it's technically the beginning of an order that made all the other games possible, story-wise.

3. Watch Dogs: Legion

With the growing popularity of hackers and artificial intelligence, Watch Dogs: Legion seems like a good game to turn into a movie or TV series. Unlike the other games, it's not actually focused on just one character, hence the title of the game.

It would be cool to watch the hacker organization DedSec through the eyes of different members as they communicate with their partner-in-crime AI, Bagley. It's also easy to root for them since they fight for the freedom of London from corrupt power players.

4. Detroit: Become Human

With all the talks of AI possibly taking over the world, maybe a movie or TV series about them wanting to coexist with humans could be a hit. The story follows three androids, Kara, Connor, and Markus, all of which are starting to become sentient or "deviants."

The human-appearing androids are meant to be servants to people, and problems begin to arise when several are starting to think for themselves, mostly prompted by human abuse. The game will actually let you sympathize with the AIs.

5. Red Dead Redemption 2

Since RDR 2 is actually the prequel, it makes sense for it to be adapted first. The game is a hit and is arguably one of the best open-world RPGs out there. The Western-themed game focuses on the life of Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and a member of the Van de Linde gang.

It already has a huge fanbase to work with. A live-action movie or series will bring its well-written narrative to a wider audience, which it deserves. Arthur Morgan's story and his path to redemption will have audiences root for the outlaw.
