HoYoverse has a very exciting announcement for the loyal players of Genshin Impact, particularly the fans of Genius Invokation TCG. If you are a fan and you have always wanted to compete in an actual game with people all over the world, well, you are getting your chance to do so.
The interactive entertainment brand has announced that its popular video game title Genshin Impact will launch the first international Genius Invokation TCG Tournament series. And yes, HoYoverse will not keep you waiting for too long because the tournament will be happening in 2023.
Here is what you have to know about this tournament, including when exactly it will take place this year, how you can participate in the tournament, and the prize money players can compete for.
Genshin Impact's Genius Invokation TC Tournament
The upcoming Genshin Impact tournament, which has been named Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup, is scheduled to take place in the latter half of 2023. Players from multiple countries and regions all over the world are welcome to join a fun and competitive journey.
The tournament will be comprised of six regional championships and a number of invitational tournaments. The prize pool has been set to $270,000. According to HoYoverse, the Prince Cup's six regional tournaments will be happening between June to September. On the other hand, three cross-regional invitationals will take place in June, August, and December.

Who Gets to Compete in the Regionals?
One way that players can get into the regionals of tournament is via the "Cat's Tail Gathering" GITCG Tournament, a community tournament system on Discord.
In each regional, top candidates from the "Cat's Tail Gathering" community tournaments and wildcard competitions will get to compete for the regional championship. It should be noted that players who advance to the quarter-finals will compete on-site, with the live broadcast taking place on the official AstraCarnival Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and TikTok channels.
From there, top regional candidates as well as top community tournament candidates may also get invited to the invitationals. They will get to take part in exhibition games for the international audience.
Genius Invokation TCG
For those wondering what exactly Genius Invokation TCG is, it is a card game introduced by Genshin Impact in December 2022. It combines the fun of its element-based combat system with strategy development, allowing players to compete with NPCs or against each other with their collection of cards.
In the most recent Version 3.7 update that was made last week, developers further enriched Genius Invokation TCG's gameplay by adding over 60 new cards and two game modes.
