Pokemon Company teased Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players after briefly showing a possible new Tera type during the end of the 2023 Pokemon World Championships.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk Part Two
In a three-minute trailer, the Indigo Disk Part Two is about to get exciting as it introduced new Pokemon, moves, Tera type, and some returning Pokemon. Terastal battle is a way for trainers to boost their Pokemon's type in the middle of a battle.
Through Terastallizing, Pokemon will increase in power and will be fueled on the Tera type it is used. The Tera type can range from fire, ice, poison, psychic, and more. Currently, there are 18 available Tera type that can be found in the game.
The release of new Tera type will be the 19th type in the game, however, Pokemon Company has yet to reveal its name. Based from the trailer, this new type of Tera is a rainbow-colored shell that bears similarity to Terapagos' shell. Some fans are guessing that Terapagos might be the key to unlock this new Tera type.
New Moves and Returning Pokemon
In addition to the new Tera type, it was also revealed that new signature moves will be added to the Indigo Disk. This includes psychic noise which prevents target from healing and upper hand which allows a Pokemon to strike before a target's priority move. Additionally, thunderclap move allows a strike before the attack and tachyon cutter will give a guaranteed hit twice in a row.
On the other hand, players will now be able to add all of the starters to their collection. This is opposed to the current update where only final evolutions can be caught from the Tera Raid battles. All of the updates will be released in Winter 2023.
