Finding Similarities in Differences

"Elemental" have been very obvious on highlighting embracing differences. In the Element City, four elements shared the city but it was noticeable how elements tend to dislike those who are not like them. For instance, fire elements was shunned by other elements due to their fiery nature. As Ember and Wade falls in love, they also realize that regardless of their differences they are also alike in many aspects.

Live Your Own Life

Ember's story reflects the story of many children out there who are torn between pursuing their own dream versus letting their parents steer the wheel on their life. For years, Pixar has been doing a great deal in integrating the concept to their films. Many coming-of-age films from the studio has successfully sent the message out there to the adults who might be watching the movie.

Communication is the Key

Sometimes we take people in our for granted just because we spend time with them. Most of the time, we need to let ourselves be heard and express freely what we think of each other. For instance, Wade's family became a shock for Ember as she never felt the need to communicate that much before. In fact, she had her first fire tears during a game.

Avoid Stereotyping

While this is a common theme among other animated films, it is still a life lesson that must be learned by everyone. In "Elemental" elements are taught about various stereotypical things that other elements do, making them easier for them to have preconceived notion about one another.

Unity in Diversity

There are things that might be hard to do if we are alone. However, once we learn to accept that there is nothing wrong of accepting help from others, we may find the tasks much easier to accomplish. In "Elemental" the characters were able to take aside their differences and accept that they are stronger together.
