6 Movies That Deserve to Have a Sequel

No matter how good or popular some movies are, it's not always a guarantee that they will get a sequel, prequel, spin-off, or some other form of follow-up content. There are many titles that have the potential to be huge franchises or sequel hits, and here are some of them.

1. 'I Am Number Four'

The movie was based on a book series called "Lorien Legacies," which has seven books in total. Sure, the books were much better like it is in most cases, but the movie as a standalone was more than good enough. The story gets significantly better as it progresses in the source material, which is why it's such a waste that they stopped with the first one.

No one would've thought that an animated movie about a rat handling food would be a hit, but "Ratatouille" easily became a Disney favorite. Despite the difficulties of being a rodent chef, Remy still followed his dreams and impressed the harshest critic, Anton Ego. Many would agree that a sequel is long overdue and will be popular among kids and adults alike.

The film had an interesting supernatural backstory about five families having powers like no other, all of whom would father a son who carries the same abilities and would pass it on for generations. Called the Sons of Ipswich, the four remaining lines are left confused and threatened as they learn that the lineage of the fifth family has survived and is taunting them.

With all the technological advancements we have today, the idea of having a giant robot you can control to fight in a boxing ring is not that far-fetched anymore. The visual effects in the movie were amazing, and there's something about it that makes you want to own your own fighting bot. There are talks about it being made into a series, but that is yet to be confirmed.

When the movie came out, everyone went crazy over Baymax. Who wouldn't? He was the adorably caring and fluffy robot who was able to assess a person's well-being physically, as well as provide medical advice and treatments. Plus, he was the last project of the late Tadashi. We would love to see more of the medical robot and Hiro's innovative ideas.

With the movie being produced by James Cameron, as well as roles played by actors like Edward Norton and Jennifer Connelly, "Alita: Battle Angel" was expected to be a success. Set in the far future, the cyberpunk movie was praised for its visual effects and storyline. Rumor has it that Cameron is looking into creating a sequel, so the best we can do is hope that it happens.
