A GTA 6 Leak Might’ve Been Uploaded by a Rockstar Games Employee’s Kid on TikTok

We are so close to the release of the official trailer for the upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto VI. With it coming this December 5th, it was a surprise and a disappointment that someone managed to get a hold of the game's content and leaked it on TikTok.

GTA VI Leak

Seeing as GTA is one of the most famous game franchises out there, many try to take the opportunity to learn about it before details are released. Such is the situation with the 17-year-old hacker who has already pleaded guilty to hacking into Rockstar Games.

Now, it looks like the trouble may have come from within the company. A user called @i_see_in_4k uploaded a short video claiming that it was a GTA 6 confirmed leaked map, even saying that they can only show so much for legal reasons.

There's not much to see aside from a few roads and buildings, but some fans were still disappointed since it sort of ruined the build-up of excitement over the close release of the trailer. Reports emerged speculating on who the uploader might be.

It was then suggested that it was the child of an employee within Rockstar Games, as reported by Business Insider. The report was from a games news site, GTABase, which is widely trusted when it comes to Rockstar Games-related content.

In the video posted, a user asked the original poster who the content was from, to which @i_see_in_4k responded, "some dev's son," saying that the video was "legit." Other comments state that it just looks like GTA V with updates.

If this is true, then the TikTok user might, and the developer's kid might face some consequences, especially since Rockstar Games takes these things seriously. For instance, the 17-year-old who hacked into the studio's system is already in police custody.

It was even more impressive since he used an Amazon Firestick, a keyboard, a mouse, and a smartphone. The hacker, Arion Kurtaj, said that he downloaded all the GTA VI content and threatened to leak it if Rockstar Games did not contact him through Telegram, as per Kotaku.

What's Known About GTA VI

The game's development was first confirmed back in February 2022. Fans have been anticipating official updates from Rockstar Games since then. Others seem like they cannot wait since, as mentioned before, there are those who have already tried to steal data from the studio.

The leaks made their way to various social networking sites, including Reddit. Rockstar Games stated that they were "extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way," as mentioned in GamesRadar.

All the leaks were taken down within 48 hours after it surfaced. Even subreddits complied by removing screenshots or any leaked content. The studio has allowed discussions about the leaks as long as users do not upload the leaked materials.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that there's no evidence that any material assets were taken and that the leak won't have any influence on the development of the game. However, he also expressed disappointment over the matter.
