Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft's consumer chief marketing officer, announced in a blog post the integration of a "one-click access" to Copilot in the upcoming Windows 11 PCs this year.

Windows 11 users can currently only have one shortcut key command with Copilot via the Win + C combination. The Copilot key is expected to replace one of the two "Alt" keys on the keyboard.

The Copilot key will not work for other PCs not running Windows 11 OS and instead will only prompt up the standard Windows Search, according to Ars Technica.

The dedicated AI key will debut in Microsoft's appearance at the CES convention next week.

Microsoft Pushes Copilot AI to More Windows Devices

Since it was first released on Windows 11, Microsoft has been pushing the reach of its AI assistant throughout 2023.

Just recently, the tech giant secretly launched an app version of Copilot for both Android and iOS devices. This follows after Windows added the feature in its last update on Windows 10.

Copilot is currently one of Microsoft's biggest projects as the "platform shift driven by AI innovation continues to grow rapidly and powerfully."

The AI assistant is currently available as a search assistant for its Bing-based web browsers, a generative chatbot, and a navigation assistant for the Windows system.

Copilot is initially Microsoft's improved replacement to Windows 10's Cortana.

PCs That Will Have the Copilot AI Key

Microsoft has already listed down several upcoming and recently released PCs, primarily laptops, that will receive the dedicated Copilot AI key.

The Acer Predator Triton Neo 16 is expected to receive the feature for the future batch of releases.

Other laptops that run Windows OS like ASUS, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung Galaxy Book, and Microsoft Surface are expected to have the dedicated key to some of the models it will release this year.

Microsoft has already attempted the same thing with Toshiba before after encouraging it to include a dedicated key for the Cortana assistant.
