Previously, the AI-powered Office features were only made available to businesses that catered to creators, researchers, and programmers. In 2024, Microsoft finally opened the same Copilot opportunity for personal use.

"Whether you need advanced help with writing, coding, designing, researching, or learning, Copilot Pro brings greater performance, productivity, and creativity," the company wrote.

Aside from AI-powered Office, subscribers will have priority access to OpenAI's GPT-4 Turbo even during peak times. Soon the users will be able to switch between models depending on their preference.

In addition, users can now build a personalized Copilot GPT tailored to their needs using the upcoming Copilot GPT Builder, along with access to enhanced AI image creation using Image Creator from Designer.

Microsoft Expands Copilot to Small Businesses

During its early launch, companies from the Fortune 100 were invited to the Early Access Program. Today, the company opened Copilot for Microsoft 365 for organizations of all sizes.

The 300-seat purchase minimum was removed for commercial plans. The Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard Customers can avail between one and 299 seats for only $30 monthly per user.

Microsoft also introduced other features such as Copilot GPT for customization, the Copilot mobile app for Android and iOS, and the Copilot Microsoft 365 mobile app for individuals.

"As we expand the availability of Copilot to even more people, we continue to offer a great free experience for anyone interested in exploring how Copilot can transform productivity and creativity using AI," the company added.
