'Fear Street' Adds Another Adaptation on Netflix

In 2021, the "Fear Street" trilogy was released on Netflix on a three-back-to-back week schedule. The trilogy was based on the novels "Fear Street Part One: 1994," "Fear Street Part Two: 1978," and "Fear Street Part Three: 1966."

The story followed the haunting stories that were discovered by teenagers in Shadyside, Ohio. The trilogy was met with mostly positive reviews.

On the contrary, "The Prom Queen" will feature a new set of characters, featuring Lizzie McVay. Her story will start as she might become the next target of the prom queen killer.

Netflix's 'The Prom Queen' Production Details

In an X post, Stine shared the big news with his fans, revealing that the production of "The Prom Queen" is about to start.

Previously, there have been reports showing that the trilogy is only the start of a series of film adaptations from Stine's long list of horror novels. Netflix only confirmed that another project is on the way during late 2023.

As of writing, no other details have been provided such as the cast or even a hint on the upcoming production. As for Stine, he clarified that he does not have any control over the casting.

"A spring night...soft moonlight...five beautiful Prom Queen candidates...dancing couples at the Shadyside High prom - these should be the ingredients for romance. But stir in one brutal murder - then another, and another - and the recipe quickly turns to horror," the book description read.
