Notion Launches Calendar App Based From Acquired Cron App

Notion revamped the acquired app Cron and created the Notion Calendar which aims to become a time layer that unifies all the productivity app's aspects.

The Notion Calendar simply needs to be connected to the user's Google Calendar to sync all the activities from your accounts, instead of inputting them one by one.

Notion Calendar as an All-in-One App for Time Management

In 2022, Notion acquired a calendar app called Cron. During the acquisition, both companies promised a better integration wherein users could organize their schedules and tasks effectively.

"It's a new way to manage time across your work and life. Our vision is to bring the time layer eventually into all aspects of Notion (notes, projects, tasks) so that you have a unified way to manage all the things competing for your time," said Raphael Schaad, head of Notion Calendar.

Using the Notion Calendar eliminates the time of cross-checking from your calendar app to sync your meetings from your notes in Notion. Aside from that it is also integrated into other productivity apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Calendar.

Context-switching between two different apps can potentially distract users from their tasks. Hence, the Notion Calendar allows viewing the day's schedule and joining virtual meetings right from the computer's menu bar.

The calendar app is also useful for balancing the time from work and personal life. Gone are the days of using two calendars to separate these two portions of your life.

Notional Calendar allows user to have a whole preview of their entire day in one place. Most importantly, it has a built-in scheduling tool that could share your availability with others and will allow them to book directly on your schedule.

Meanwhile, it can also automatically block overlapping schedules. In this way, users won't have to worry about creating unintentionally tight schedules.

The Notion Calendar is currently available on Windows, Mac, and iOS.
