Samsung Defends 'Washed Out' Colors on Galaxy S24 Ultra, Says it's on Purpose

Samsung Galaxy S24 users have complained about the colors of the phone, calling it "washed out" and not as vibrant as its predecessor.

The smartphone company argued that the colors are intended to come off as natural for the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung Adjusts Colors, Brightness for Galaxy S24 Series

Although not all users have complained about the colors, Samsung still explained the difference in the latest models. According to the company, the colors and brightness were adjusted to be more accurate and comfortable.

"This display behavior is an intentional color adjustment and is not a product defect, so it can be used safely," Samsung wrote to TecknoFilio

Samsung also explained that the changes were necessary to provide a display technology that is more natural to the viewing experience. Hence, there are changes to the color depth when compared to older Galaxy models.

In a contrasting statement, a Samsung employee claimed that the company is looking to possibly change the update and add a pop of color to the "Vivid mode." However, this should be taken with a grain of salt.

For now, Samsung encouraged its customers to give feedback so that the company could continuously improve its software and user experience technology.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra debuted last January 31 along with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. The S24 Ultra sports a Super AMOLED panel that holds 2,600 nits for its brightness. It also has an anti-glare screen which was applauded for its usefulness in outdoor usage.
